The perfect way to experience Gaddis Brothers’ Martial Arts.
At GBMA we don't think anyone should just jump into a class of students who have weeks, months or years of experience. We believe there is a better way, and that is why we created our Introductory Course Program. Using 3 semi-private classes we prepare students with the basic starter movements and postures and introduce them to martial arts protocol and etiquette.
At the conclusion of the Introductory Course students are well prepared and comfortable with joining our high energy, exciting regular classes.
Class #1
Your first class at Gaddis Brothers’ Martial Arts! You will receive your complimentary martial arts uniform and be given a brief tour of the school.
During the first Introductory Class students learn basic martial arts postures. These include stances, punches, kicks, blocks and strikes. Students are taught how to stand, sit and bow appropriately. Martial Arts protocol is also taught, students learn how to properly enter and exit the training floor, how to ask questions and how to refer to their instructors.
Martial Arts discipline and protocol is what sets GBMA apart from other organized activities and sports. We very firmly believe students benefit in many ways from practicing these values every class.
Class #2
Your second class at Gaddis Brothers’ Martial Arts will briefly review what you have learned in your first class and improve upon those basic movements and postures.
In the second class you will, depending on the martial art you choose to study, learn a kata. Kata are organized patterns of movements and are considered the core of many martial arts. Kata have existed for almost as long as martial arts themselves and before the professional systems we use today were developed, kata were the primary methods of teaching martial arts.
Class #3
Your third class at Gaddis Brothers’ Martial Arts will cover your previous lessons and expand into self defense.
Our school's philosophy is that Self Defense is more than physical movements. While we will teach you how to stand, cover up and block, punch, strike and kick, we teach and advocate much more.
Our Lil Dragon (4-6 yr olds) and Youth (7-13 year olds) are drilled on their home addresses and parent phone numbers. We cover themes like what to do if you get separated and lost from your parents and what to do in crowded places. We also teach nationally recognized bully prevention and resolution techniques.
Teenage and Adult students experience practical real world self defense. GBMA uses the great foundation that traditional martial arts provide while ensuring our self defense curriculum is modern, practical and balanced. Themes explored are situational awareness, body language and gender specific self defense.
